Frequently asked questions
Do I need a permit for a foundation or small building?
It depends on the size and type of structure. Some small buildings are exempt from a building permit and others are not. The building officer in your municipality can tell you what applies to you.
How deep does a foundation need to be?
Footings must reach below frost depth or sit on frost-free ground. The designer specifies the depth. The calculator offers light footings, about 60 cm, and frost-free, about 1.2 m.
Do you dig for hot tubs?
Yes. We dig and level for the tub so it sits correctly. Gravel and pipework are not included.
